Shlomo’s Deli and Grill

The newest face in Aspen’s restaurant scene is one of the most recognizable to long-time locals. Shlomo Ben Hamoo the well-known and colorful owner of the original Shlomo’s Deli in the Little Nell Hotel is back. He has opened a new deli just across from the gondola plaza in the Residences of the Little Nell space that has unsuccessfully housed three different upscale restaurants.

Shlomo will use his previously successful blueprint to offer a classic American deli experience with his trademark classic Jewish offerings like Matzo Ball soup. The great news for locals is that the prices will be reasonable with a focus on breakfast lunch. With a fantastic outdoor deck space, my prediction is that Shlomo’s will be the go to Apres ski option as well.

Since opening on Thanksgiving Day, the place has been packed and Shlomo is in the house working the crowd. With a great casual menu, affordable pricing and local’s vibe, this restaurant will be in for long term success. With the loss of Little Annies, Johnny McGuires and Main Street Bakery, Shlomo’s timing could not be better.

No you don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy. If you are from Texas like me, the correct pronunciation is “Slow Moes”. Joe Bob says, “Check it out”.
